Fully integrated, legally compliant system with payment function
Ideal for parking operators, municipalities and companies
MAHLE chargeBIG is driving forward the expansion of the charging infrastructure
New charging terminal available from mid-2026
MAHLE chargeBIG and Langmatz Energy, a leading provider of infrastructure and enclosure solutions, have entered into a strategic partnership to further advance the expansion of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Germany. The two companies are jointly developing a new charging terminal capable of simultaneously supplying up to four electric vehicles with 22 kilowatts of AC charging power each. The fully integrated, legally compliant system combines terminal functionality, payment technology, and charging points in a compact outdoor enclosure. This makes it ideal for parking operators, municipalities, and businesses. The new charging terminal will be available by mid-2026.
“The partnership with Langmatz Energy is an important building block in the ramp-up of e-mobility in Germany,” says Dr. Matthias Kreimeier, Managing Director of MAHLE chargeBIG. “We are continuously developing our products to make charging electric vehicles as simple, efficient and user-friendly as possible in a wide variety of everyday situations.”
“As an experienced provider of infrastructure and enclosure solutions, we ideally complement the innovative charging technology of MAHLE chargeBIG. With the joint product, we are creating an attractive offering for the accelerated expansion of the charging infrastructure in Germany,” says Christian Eichberger, Managing Director of Langmatz Energy.
Langmatz Energy supplies the specially developed outdoor enclosure, which is tailored to the dynamic, grid-relieving AC charging technology of MAHLE chargeBIG. This creates a powerful and economical overall system that is particularly suitable for use in public spaces – wherever numerous charging points are needed. The modular design and the sophisticated system architecture enable easy installation, quick maintenance, and high serviceability for electrical contractors.
Thanks to its integrated design, there is no need for additional support columns. This saves valuable space and allows for seamless integration into existing parking structures. Customers can pay via an integrated payment function directly at the terminal using an RFID charging card or credit card.
